How Laser Vein Removal Works
Laser vein removal works by sending pulses of light energy into your skin. Once inside, that energy is absorbed by hemoglobin within the targeted veins. The collapsed vein will eventually be resorbed by your body, leading to a significant reduction in the appearance of spider veins.
Most spider veins can be treated with lasers if the veins are less than 3 mm in diameter. With laser treatment there are no incisions or needles and you can return to your normal routine the same day. In fact, the treatment time is only 15 to 30 minutes.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Generally, 2-3 treatments are needed to remove spider veins in the legs. The laser targets the blood in the blood vessel and causes it to coagulate collapsing the targeted vein. The body then repairs the area and absorbs the coagulated blood vessel. During the treatment the surrounding skin is protected by our state-of-the-art integrated cooling handpiece.
